I've been contracting with a company for nearly two years. They're making the role permanent and have asked if I would be interested. Are there any tax implications in accepting a permanent job in this situation.

Contract to Perm
Agreed, but is there any IR35 or 2 year implication where IR might view emloyment as continuous and review the taxes paid during the contractor period, or is there a marked cutoff between employment as contractor and employment as permie with the same company.Originally posted by TexYes. You will be a permie paying permie taxes.Comment

Who knows these days? You would think not but HMCR are pretty much making it up as they go along in this area as in good old tax law it's guilty until proven innocent. If I were you, I would pay for a professional opinion based on your personal circumstances from the likes of Lawspeed, Qdos, Accountax and the like, rather than rely on a (probably) ill-informed but free opinion from a board of hacks. Especially seeing as getting it wrong could cost you dearly,Originally posted by kentigernAgreed, but is there any IR35 or 2 year implication where IR might view emloyment as continuous and review the taxes paid during the contractor period, or is there a marked cutoff between employment as contractor and employment as permie with the same company.Comment
