    Expenses - are Private Health, Critical Illness etc claimable as expenses?

    As it says really. I always thought they weren't allowable, but someone has told me otherwise

      i.e. you'll pay income tax on these amounts as if you had received the cash equivalent

          They are allowable but as other posters say, there is a benefit in kind issue. If the company is the beneficiary of the policy, then there is no benefit in kind. If you are the beneficiary, then you will be subject to personal tax and the company will be subject to Class 1A NIC. I've heard there are some policies out there where you can be the beneficiary of life cover with the company paying the premo where there is no BIK, but I am no IFA...just a Stag!
