    Foreign Managed Services Companies

I am coming across a number foreign IT companies providing managed services to the UK companies. The UK companies make people redundant and put their IT systems under managed service. The management says by off-shoring this work they are saving money. However, the foreign companies bring plane load of people to UK to perform some the work. How is this off-shoring? How are they getting visas? Some people work while they come with business visas, is this legal?

It's not offshoring, it's technically on-shoring with imported staff, management is using wrong term

As to how they are getting visa’s, abuse of the intra company transfer visa system, legal but defiantly against the original intention of that visa system

Basically by client outsourcing to another company they get around the “not allowed to replace existing worker clause” and the outsourcer have them working locally for 6 month before moving them here to their “UK subsidiary”

In regards to the appropriate salary clause, basically Gov. accepts whatever they say as being appropriate

unless the "offshore" managed service is European based then it's perfectly legal and part of the fact that GB is a quasi-member of europe

That explains, immigration via the backdoor at the cost of the local jobs! May be Nick and Dave should close this door.
