    PII - should I sign it?

    Got offer from proper bank. But the position itself is through Indian outsourcing company (it seems the talents in Mumbay all are gone so they are hiring in the UK now).

    They asked me to sign some weird document. Some blabbery about PII - personal identifiable information.

    I understand this is precaution measure for those call centres workers in India who were stealing identity of british customers and selling them $4 per record.

    However I fail to see what is here to do with software development services I am going to provide.

    The major worry though - it rather seems bidning and I think IR might be very happy to put it against me in IR35 case if they see it.

    Like one of the paragraphs says: "The disciplinary proceedings will be conducted by xxxx following the investigation and recommendations by PII Approving Committee"

    I dont want to lose this job because I spent 2 weeks getting to it. But I dont want to sign some gibberish either..

    Anyone has a suggestion?

    Oh this isn't that dodgy offshore recruitment / 'IT Consultancy' based in India that does business for a certain Investment Bank which kinda has initials D.B. now is it ?

    I dealt with them and pulled out at the initial interview offer stage becuase they weren't being upfront and transparent about rates etc. seemed like some cowboys that sat in India and scooped loads of cash from your hard earned days in office as they 'farmed you out' from their 'professional IT consultancy' !!!! no way Jose I thought and he was very rude to me when I quizzed him on some general aspects of their setup. I reckon with me they were going to skim £100-£250 day off me for doing f-all.

      No its not DB but I came across several companies like that and I think it is new way of conducting business in the City now. small way but still its there.

      no they are very polite (because if they werent I'd kick their arse). I had 2 offers in one day and I turned one down because this job has a very good title on it but the same money.

      as to rate I know for sure how much this bank prepared to pay (I have few friends there working and worked) so I'd say they trim 50 quids. Native agencies cut more. So I dont complain here.

      I am not the biggest fun of equality and world fraternity but I can tell that there are loads of english agents who are real crap on personal and professional level.

      But now, although I always fall in every trap on first conversation, afterwards I immediately know if the guy is going to be a total waste of time. So I simply dont let this person to get any further. I kinda developed immunity to the idiots and I have now my little black list!
