Hi there,
I may have the opportunity to work for a Swiss-based company for a short-term contract which is likely to be less than 3 months. Currently I am tax resident outside EU (been gone for past 3yrs) but will come back to do contract either in UK (where they also have an office so could have a UK contract) or in Switz (and work there through a local payroll company).
Here are the other facts:
- EU passport
- Family 2.1 kids
- Contract rate of CHF100 or GBP50/hr
My question is, should I look to be going to Switz to become a tax resident there (taking the family also) and work through a payroll company OR should I work from the UK and set up my own Ltd Co?
Perhaps this all depends on whether the contract goes beyond 3 months (and will require me to pay Swiss Med Insurance and pensions). From my initial calculations I could have anywhere between 70-75% retention in Switzerland and maybe thereabouts through a UK Ltd setup.
Any advice appreciated.
