In some ways the PAYE cockup actually works against us because, despite the fact that like BN66 it's all a result HMRC's own incompetence, the Government are broadly supporting them.
However, hopefully the Treasury Committee might heap a load of criticism on them.Comment

A new concession will mean many people facing the highest demands for back-tax will not face interest payments.
Those given time to pay more than £2,000 in underpaid tax will now have interest waived - in line with those with smaller demands, MPs were told.
Do we have a precedent set here? Can we legally demand equal treatment?Comment

another interesting comment by Hartnett on answering a question about can people pay over longer than 3 years...Hartnett: Yes, we have procedures called Time to pay in place that can be used where appropriate
