It does say that you should add comments in good faith.

I posted the other day and I think it's wrong to abuse this site in the way some of you are doing and I'm not surprised they're taking steps to rectify this now. i personally think it's valid to add multiple comments, as new perspectives present themselves. But one the earlier suggestions was to deliberately mark down other user's suggestions just to get us to the top. I think this is fundamentally unfair and don't think we should be acting in the cynical way, if if HMRC have done/will do.

I actually agree.
We are making ourselves a thorn in their sides (on purpose I know) but at some point they will just think that we are menaces in general. Trying to hijack their site isn't a good idea. Making this a grudge match is not a good idea.

I understand what you're saying, but I doubt very much if this was anything more that a little PR stunt by the Government. They won't do anything about ours or anyone else's concerns. It's a website knocked together on a shoestring, that got them a few headlines. As far as they are concerned, its already served its purpose. We might be a pain in the side, but that website will disappear soon, with a platitude about it having served it's purpose. We may have hijacked it, but they know we are here, and that if we are going to get it, then we're prepared to give it back. Besides, this is a big issue, and this principle cannot be allowed to stand unchallenged. Despite the fun and games we're having with it, this legislation sets a potentially huge threat to civil liberties. Politicians and HMRC have toyed with us for years. A little payback is fair enough, imho.

I agree that posting the same comment over and over again is not a good idea. I do think that all of us putting, say, 5 valid comments on this every day is a good idea, as maybe it will show them the strength of feeling, and remind them that there are real people behind this. If more of you out there logged in and posted it also wouldn't be left to the few to add comments, which just makes us look like trouble makers.

I, along with most people on here, stand to lose a great deal if we have to pay this, so why shouldn't I shout from the roof tops? This is a massive issue, and one that will be repeated on a large portion of the nation if it is allowed to stand.

So lets all add heartfelt comments on just how this will affect our families and ourselves, how it is making us feel, and what impact this has had on our lives since 2008 (ie HMRC bullying tactics, etc).

Where is the wrong in doing that ??

That is assuming they don't deny our civil liberties by keeping the thread closed...

I give this around 30 minutes this morning until they squash it.

Do you think that this is an opportune moment to go to the press? David Gauke could not have been more damning of the retrospective element of this legislation, and to now prevent us from having our say is just Nanny State gone mad.

I know that the vast majority of people will not be on our side, but if we can get someone to report this in the manner that, if we are hit, then be sure that one day they will also come after you, then we may gather some good press.

Any thoughts??

Looks like it. I have taken a copy of all the comments just in case it disappears altogether.

All is not lost however. You can still lend your support to the following "worthy" causes

- Legalising child pornography
- Masterbating in public
- Dogging

It lasted slightly longer than I expected, only just though.

If we can get 40 of us to add 5 comments each then that is 300 per day. Doesn't take long, but can we get 40 people to do this??

Censorship of Your Freedom

I just tried setting up a new user. The S58 FA2008 thread has effectively been closed by the Moderators on the YOur Freedom site.

I was unable to:

1) Vote;
2) Add a tag; or
3) Make a comment

Is this what is called an Establishment cover up?

They have also taken down the thread compalining about this selective restriction of our freedom and human rights.

They have basically stopped anyone from posting to it.

Dear Mr Clegg. If you are not prepared for what might appear you should never have put the site up in this place. I thought we were in for some better democracy with a new Government.
