    PAYE Moving To Contractor

    Hi Folks

First time poster, long time lurker.

    A quick question...

I worked until December 2009 as a PAYE employee.

When I finished in January, I claimed back my overpayment in tax by claiming that I wouldn't work again till after April 2010. I am expecting a cheque or £3k any day now.

Today, I landed a contract which I think I will take.

Am I allowed to keep the £3k, and not draw a salary from my limited company until the new tax year. Is this how it works?

    Thanks in advance

Yep - sounds fine. There's nothing to force you to take a divi or salary.
