Hi There,
I am keen to start a conversation with contractors in terms of the current practice of using Umbrella organisations to maximise their take home pay as I have a colleague who works through a different scheme and gets his weekly wage paid gross (less their commission) who is saying it is the best way to work since sliced bread; without all the hassle of the funding a personal limited company.
Essentially, I was just keen to see what other contractors are doing at the moment what with the recent legislation (MSC I believe it is) that has changed things considerably recently.
If like me you have enjoyed a number of years of working through Umbrellas, to suddenly be told that they are having to deduct the employers NI contribution it seems to me that I am now essentially an employee of theirs and worse off than if I was on a PAYE basis.
Things are looking bleaker seeing as the Govt are clamping down on the amount of money can claim tax free too. It seems that my friend has got the right idea in going for this alternative route that has all the benefits of the Umbrella as it was.
Was just keen to speak to other people especially in the Midlands who are also considering alternative payroll solutions to see if there is common ground.
Thanks for reading this, I hope to hear from you soon
sp: i'll let this go since i KNOW that it won't result in spam!!!
