The JR is now on the warned list (CO/10012/2008 - Huitson v HM Revenue & Customs), although I'm not 100% clear what this means.

I think I am right in saying that MontP have said they will appeal and if HMRC starts to try and implement collection on closure notices MontP will appeal all the way to the House of Lords.Comment

This is the FOI site we've been using. It is operated by the registered charity: http://www.mysociety.org.
When we win, I would like to propose we make a donation to them (which by the way is tax deductable).
Is anyone else up for this?Comment

Quite agree DR...
There are a number of individuals and organisations that need congratulating in one way or another once we win this battle...Comment

Closure Notice came through last night, 2nd class post of course - have sent it off to Montpelier today. Darn it! Still at least it is the Bank Holiday weekend - hopefully I can forget about it. Have a good weekend all.Comment

They're at it again
Hi all, and welcome back after a long weekend.
Well, I got home Friday night to another brown envelope from the mafia boys.
This one is from the "POA2 Campaign" department telling me that my 2nd payment on account hasn't been received (which was paid online and one week before due), and also that as I have other 'liabilities' due my case has therefore been transferred to their department.
The letter finishes off with a nice cryptic statement listing the monies that I apparently owe. It looks like they have included 2 out of my 5 years, so I presume that the appeal wasn't received/accepted for these 2 years.
Obviously it was sent off to MontP immediately, and I received a 'dealing with it' email from Natalie on Sunday night (yep, no rest for the wicked I guess).
UPDATE:
I've had a further response from Tom and Natalie, apparently they have had a stack of these come in over the weekend.
Tom has attempted to contact the HMRC and the officer he needs to speak to is out today and his colleague couldn't help!!!
And doesn't that sound all so much like the usual HMRC's style... send a stack of letters out and then make sure there's no-one available to deal with the responses.
Useless tossersComment
