Quick question for someone who might know?
My partner had maternity pay through our company earlier this year.
Using Sage Payroll, on the P32 it started deducting money from NIC contributions which ended up showing a negative figure owed to HMRC in the TOTAL column.
I claimed the money from HMRC in advance (they sent me a cheque), so the maternity pay wouldn't need to be claimed back from NIC deductions / money owed to HMRC.
Upon year end it now shows a figure of -£3000 or so, indicating HMRC owes me ~£3000 which isn't true. Have I done something wrong, or should I just manually discount the NIC deductions to get the true figure?
Please don't say ask accountant / Sage as I'm not paying them £95+vat to get the answer, I plan on ditching Sage once I've ran the payroll year end.
Cheers.
