    Does HMRC issue Receipts for the taxes paid?

    Does the HMRC provide any official receipt for the (1) Self assessment taxes (2) Company corporation taxes paid?

    I want to keep official documentation for the taxes paid to HMRC (no just the tax returns I submitted)

    They have always sent me (personally) a statement every six months or so showing the SA tax paid and due.

    I have never seen anything corporation tax wise, but if there was anything I would imagine that the accountant has it.

    I always take screen prints of the payments being made from online banking / or cheque clearing the account too.

      I requested for a statement, and received the same, but it just shows the tax due for this year (31 Jan 2009 and 31 July 2009), but doesn't show any tax I paid last year.

      Unfortunately, I didn't take any printout of the online payment I made, but my monthly bank statements have an entry.

      It will be very helpful if HMRC sends an acknowledgement for the payment received by them.

      Is there any way I can request and get a payment receipt from them for the taxes paid?
