My own fault I wrote the cheque out for £100 more than the CT was didn't notice until checked cheque stub after posting. I haven't submitted accounts yet though, what happens with the over payment will they just hold it on account ?

From what I know they will repay it with interest, sure I saw the same question asked a few weeks ago here. The cycle of life: born > learn > work > learn > dead. -
IIRC there's a box on the CT return for any overpaid CT so you can simply reduce next year's charge by £100.

This happened to me once
, I got a cheque after a while from the revenue, either way your accountant should pick this up when the next accounts are done, so either way you will get it back.

When I overpaid (I actually paid using the wrong reference, causing the previous years CT to be overpaid by a large amount!) they sent me a cheque for the overpayment.
I think, as soon as they receive your accounts with the amount due they will refund the overpayment.Comment
