What's with all the pension questions today?Originally posted by east_of_the_sun View PostHi, can anyone recommend a good IFA in the Berkshire area? I'm looking for someone with experience of dealing with contractor pensions
Thanks
Welcome east_of_the_sun -
IMO don't waste your time / money on IFAs. You'll get better advice from CUK and Google (do be patient with the village idiots though and try to avoid feeding the trolls
).
Edit: And search the archives - there's a good chance your questions may have been answered on here already. -

You could try Unbiased, they have a list of IFA's and I would have thought you will find one in the area.
The specialist advisors listed on this website would also be able to help even if they are not based in your area.

I think you right to some degree, I would use the forums and google to find out background information to take to a professional advisor.
But I would really take some advice from a professional that will look at your particular circumstances and advise accordingly. IMHO there are plenty of advisors out there that know what they are doing and do not charge huge fees.
It certainly seems to be "pensions day" yesterday, but maybe thats because we are starting to see the build up of the end of the tax year. This is the time to be looking at things like Pensions and other matters that are dependent on the Fiscal Year.
