    New Project - Clarification

    Brillo Pad

By new project I meant new client, new project different geographical location. Sorry that wasnt clear.

IMHO I didnt think that negotiating a rate rise for your contract would be a "permie mentality". Its just being commercial.

I am always after a rate rise : but my reasons are simply that I will leave. If the reason I gave was "to make up for the loss of tax deduction on travel expenses" then I would expect to be laughed at.

        Rate Rise

        BrilloPad,

I couldnt agree more. When you are running your own business and negotiating a contract price you wouldnt be telling your client why, you would just negotiate the price. But of course you would know why you were needing a higher contract rate.

He says there's a chance HMRC may link the two together but seeing as their resources are stretched thinks it unlikely. In any event, if they do what have you lost because you couldnt claim the travel under the old company anyway."

Silly me I must have read it wrong.
