Winding up a Limited company after 6 months

Hi There,
this is my first time posting
I am currently really confused as to what I should do?

I started contract as a Limited company in May 2008, but I've decided to leave the UK in december 2008 and not come back,
I haven't paid and tax etc. yet so as I understand I can wind up the company.

Do I need to pay tax; and if so what kind of tax and how?
Do I need to fill out certain forms etc.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's going to take around 3-4 months to close the company properly, so you need to speak to your accountant about this asap. They will be able to prepare your cessation accounts for you and calculate any corporation tax (if any) that will need paying.
