I run my limited company. Can I book the travel expenses for interview as business expenses and charge it to my company?

Thanks VectraMan for the reply.
Good news for me, as I have spent >£300 for the flights, now I can book this to my company.Comment

Why do people think claiming travel expenses to an interview is NOT a legitimate claim!?
Anything which is wholly and exclusively in connection with the business is claimable.
I always claim mileage for interviews and if that required a stay away due to the timing and location of the interview, I'd claim that too.I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

I don't claim it. It's an expense I can afford to write off.Originally posted by BolshieBastard View PostWhy do people think claiming travel expenses to an interview is NOT a legitimate claim!?

If not successful in the business meeting (interview), then this expense is not paid from any contract, rather from the earnings of previous contracts.Originally posted by BolshieBastard View PostWhy do people think claiming travel expenses to an interview is NOT a legitimate claim!?
I was assuming (wrongly) that all expenses should be linked to a contract.Comment

Without a signed contract you cannot claim expenses with an Umbrella outwith the contract dates. Makes total sense.Originally posted by MPwannadecentincome View PostParasol don't think it is legitimate - I don't know about other umbrella companies.
The OP was talking about running a Ltd so the two scenarios are not similarComment
