I've had that kind of response from MP as well. If those are their comments, then I find them shockingly arrogant and without feeling.

EDIT; MP were saying the 'fight' was just beginning 3 or 4 years ago! HTF can they say its only begiining now?

Frankly, MP dont seem to realise the strain, distress and uncertainty this matter puts on people. We're the ones who stand to lose lots of money as individuals on this. MP only stand to lose the repayment of the loans (which they've never had so havent missed) they 'gave' us.

If MP had of told everyone to take out CTD's after HMRC had served notice, then many of us wouldnt be looking at potentially bigger tax bills than we are. Instead they just said sit tight and do nothing.

MP really should get a grip of reality here.

What a good post. This will make HMRC fold.

Personally I want Montp to get on with fighting our corner. They seem to be doing this. If people can't stand the "strain, distress and uncertainty" then get a CTD.

After montp advice did you call HMRC?

Hi Brillo. I appreciate your assistance in the past but I really dont see why you think we should bend over and allow MP to shaft us any more than HMRC do.

Please bear in mind there may be people posting here who are not who they seem.

If you had a suspicion that HMRC were trolling wouldn't you be "shockingly arrogant and without feeling" to try and flush them out?

MP read this forum. They know who I am, and they know who Brillo is and we can vouch for many but there is one story that doesn't add up...

DR, I said in my post 'if those comments are MP's' etc. I think there's a bit too much paranioa going on here.

I'd be interested to know how comments such as those would actually flush anyone out and what it would serve if it did?

But hey, dont bother replying because another member is already upset over my post and as far as Im concerned, the whole freaking thread is getting a bit off topic at times not to mention ludicrous.

Oh and BTW, I have no connection with HMRC, just so everyone is aware.

Indeed BB is 100% on the scheme.

                Closure Notice Appeal

MP submitted an appeal against my closure notices recently. Should I receive any confirmation/feedback from HMRC?

I just received this PM anonymously - many thanks!!

When I spoke to Tim Warr - he said that he had already discussed the possibility of doing a deal with HMRC and mentioned that he had done a deal for members of another scheme - who ended up paying 28% of asking price (I think).
Anyway he said that they had told him that they definitely wouldn't do a deal on this scheme.
However - he could well be just saying this as he has far larger interests in the other work he is doing...

One of my contacts who knew some people in the Suo Motu scheme basically confirmed the same thing:

                    =========================================
Yes 30% was what colleagues with Suo Motu paid. Until shortly before the settlement they were unaware that they were on a different scheme to those of us with MTM. It seems that early respondents to the Suo Motu web page were directed to MTM's scheme but after [name removed] and [name removed] fell out with MTM they continued to recruit using the Suo Motu name for their own copycat scheme.

And I think HMRC are doing us a favour by not settling. Though a few might not like the emotional stress of the delay before our likely win.
