You're such a masochist, GadgetMan! Can I get tickets too?

      Closure Notices

The last tax year that I was in the MontP scheme was YE April 2004. I still haven't received any closure notices yet. Have other people had them, or are they all delayed?

I thought I had received one today but alas, it was the Littlewoods catalogue.

these will all be accepted and those involved will pay up!!!!

okay, okay - they will be appealed.

Any idea what this was about?

It did occur to me that HMRC might be using the partnership accounts to track down any people who have so far slipped through the net.

Something about an enquiry/discovery - maybe I should pay more attention!

It is odd that people can slip through the net - but it happens!

My ex once set a load of tax owed by companies to zero! She was new - for some reason it was not checked! Someone called up and said "why are you saying I owe nothing - I owe £20k"! If he had said nothing several would have not had to pay anything.

I somewhat foolishly asked HMRC for an estimate of what they thought I owed. They somewhat surprised me by very promptly sending a very thorough set of computations including variable interest rate calculation over the many years since I was with MP, that came within £300 of MP's computation.

Re closure notices, when they are received, do we appeal them ourselves (if so how), or do we send them to MP for appeal on our behalf.

also given the pending JR that may well find HMRC's action unlawful, why are they wasting their and our time issuing closure notices.

how did they get so f***in stupid.
