Just about to start first contract. I'm considering using an umbrella while I suss the whole thing out. Alternet seem to have very generous expenses compared to other umbrellas, and there fees are fairly low too. Does anyone have any experience of using them.

I don't know Alternet but as pointed out here regularly the IR agreed expenses that the umbrellas 'offer' do actually have to be spent and receipts kept incase you get audited. I'd go for a known umbrella as there are some pretty dodgy outfits out there, Parasol are the only ones I've used and they were OK. I'd still go Ltd if I was you !?
