New to the forum, so firstly hello all.
I am coming to the end of a 12 month contract and the client is really happy and wants to extend - good news
However the client has been going through a review of the rates they pay agents and negotiated them down, for everyone on the project, not ours but the agents and suggested we negotiate with them for a rise etc
Through the course of this I have found out that agent is making a huge margin 28% and is refusing to negotiate with me saying there is no margin.
can i move to another agent and keep the same role? as the client is happy and i am happy and i could get a much better rate? what are the legal implications?
As it stands at the moment both the client and i are going to lose out as I am not going to renew as I am not prepared to put that margin in someones pocket, especially as i was known to the client before and was told submit my cv through this agency
