    Closing down my Ltd company..questions/info?

    Hi to all,

I have been working on contract for 7 years and finally decided to take a change in direction and go permanent the other side of this tax year..

Im wondering how complicated it is to close the company down? and how I would go on about getting tax codes etc in the short term or can you be on paye on emergency code and still have final payments coming into my company bank account. (as in can I be doing both at once over the transition period)

Going perm is at least a 25k drop in salary for me which is going to hurt so im keen to stay on contract for as many weeks as I can to help boost my cashflow ready for the big drop on perm salary. (and obviously my boss wants the opposite and me to move over sooner rather than later!)

Told my boss I need to stay on contract till end of tax year for tax reasons and im thinking of remortgaging my house too as I wont have the salary multiple to do so once im perm...

Im trying to think of a valid reason I can give to stretch the switch over out a few more weeks into mid/end april to give me time to sort a possible remortgage and the extra cash will help out... but without alienating my boss

Any ideas of a valid reason why I could postpone my paye start date from when they want me to switch on 7th april 08 until say 1st may 08...

Many thanks in advance for all replies
