    Remote working overseas

    Morning all,

I'm heading overseas (Canada and New Zealand) for an extended holiday at the end of the year for 6 - 12 months. I'm currently contracting and my company also has other income through a few revenue-earning websites.

If I was to take a short-term contract which let me work remotely while I was abroad what would the tax/legal implications be for my company in the UK? Would I need to get a work visa for Canada/New Zealand? If I'm paying full tax in the UK while abroad would the Canadian/New Zealand/UK tax authorities care if I was working over there?

I'm hoping someone has done something similar in the past and has some useful advice for me!

    Thanks.

    I do the same.

If your company is 'managed and administrated' in the UK you have to pay UK corp tax. If you are tax resident and domiciled in the UK you have to pay UK personal tax.

You have to make over 1m to make non-dom & offshore worth while - in my opinion.

don't get involved with another tax regime - I did in China - effing nightmare.

I have heard of a few Brits in australia working there remotely on the 'night shift'
