I've not received anything from them.

Then again I am not a customer of theirs.

    Can I sue?

I have to admit to being disappointed with SJD, more so when I see how much more expensive they are to the competition.

I always read SJD forums, hoping to see someone else who's disappointed with the service - but to be fair; it seems my experience must be the exception to the rule.

I'm in a position where during my 6 month spell the service promises have been broken several times and I don't trust the accuracy of my spreadsheet figures much at all.

I should add I'm not a natural worrier, but am a little more worried about my future plans / liabilities now I'm with SJD, than I was before I joined them.
I'd guess they are over subscribed.

        Here goes then!

Why do we charge ₤95 per month?

Yes the basic compliance service is similar with all accountants, it has to be, we are all governed by the same rules. However, the way it is delivered is very different across all accountants.

All accountants run their companies in different ways, some like the idea of just one office, others like me, like the idea of offering a National service. I do this because I feel contractors want a locally based and locally delivered service from a Nationally recognised name. Despite what some may feel contractors like to feel they can call in to see their accountants. You have to remember many of you have been contractors for quite some time, but can you remember how stressful it was when you first started out? How nice it would have felt if you could have met with your accountant? We try and employ accountants who are committed to providing the highest levels of customer services, approachable people who will be good ambassadors for SJD, I can tell you this is not easy to do, and nor is it cheap.

I continually aspire to provide improved levels of customer service and am passionate about client satisfaction. I know how it feels to be on the receiving end of poor service and try to ensure in any way I can that this never happens to our clients, hence why I come on here regularly, post with my own name and have my email address available for all to send to.

We have Nationwide offices, more qualified accountants than any other firm in our market, more awards for customer service, are recommended by the Sunday Times and PCG and have won or been finalists in numerous national business and accountancy awards. We have also been trading since 1992 and have currently over 8000 clients with over 50% of those coming from referrals.

I hope this helps explain a little more about SJD Accountancy, the service we provide and why we provide it in the way we do.
P.S. What Spreadsheet? Revolutionising the contracting market again.

I know your all thinking it but I'll say it.

Why do some many people with very few posts come here just to ask about SJD and complain.

If I was suspicious I'd say its an organised campaign.

I think you may be being a bit paranoid :-) No organisation is perfect.

I'm not sure why Simon feels the need to justify himself as sjd have been in the industry for years and that spealks for itself and as I have said previously , willing to advice here for free

I'm not sure about the remark of qualified accountants being valid as I imagine mosts qualified accountants would not just seek to work in the contracting industry as it is pretty limited

I do not like the high fees that SJD charge, I think its to much.

                      But...

Mrs Tay is an accountant, she could do the books for me, but cannot be bothered and seems to think its beneath her and not worth her time .. plus she thinks this stuff can be quite specialised if you want to take the most tax efficient position. Anyway my point is that when annual reports get posted to me... she scrutinises them in great depth, not so much as a tax expert, but as an accountant critiquing various things. She was fullsome in her praise of how they did things. Good enough for me.
