If they insist that they do hold a 'special agreement with HMRC', ask them for written evidence. -
Apart from SJD of course who apparently have an email from HMRC stating that they are not caught by the MSC legislation.Originally posted by Cowboy Bob View PostIf any company says they have any kind of special agreement or special working relationship with HMRC, they are lying. HMRC do not enter into such agreements.

Incidentally, why don't you just email me if you are interested in what we are up to?Comment

An email confirming your position on a point of law is hardly a 'special agreement is it?Comment

Good news for the big boys!
Surely this latest debacle by HMRC has knocked the wind out of their sails. This should mean less time and resources to confront Brookson and the like regarding "Business Models" and "Compliancy" so a bit of a breather for those members in doubt. The line drawn in the sand is still April '07 though.exbrmComment

Yeah right.... Because they don't have a limitless source of money coming to waste on things do they (Tax anybody)...Originally posted by exbrm View PostSurely this latest debacle by HMRC has knocked the wind out of their sails. HMRC will take many people to court for many things and are quite happy to waste millions on an unwinnable case. In the case of Brooksons they may actually have a chance to win so why would they not blow a few more million of our hard earned wedge. If they start running out they can always up taxes even more.....Comment
