a*b*c is always the same as c*b*a.

      No brackets needed.

This is only true in certain circumstances:

        If [x,y] denotes the commutator of x and y, i.e. [x,y] = x*y - y*x then:

        a*b*c = [a,b]*c + b*a*c = [a,b]*c + b*[a,c] + b*c*a = [a,b]*c + b*[c,a] + c*b*a + [b,c]*a

        So a*b*c = c*b*a if and only if: [a,b]*c + b*[c,a] + [b,c]*a = 0

This is certainly true in an Abelian group, but not in general.

You need to be funny to tell a joke. You are not.

I've been looking into these myself and am not getting very good information from anyone. Why is it when anyone mentions a company and asks for imformation all you get is crap answers and get called a spammer.

Can anyone please help me??! I don't want to set up as a limited company cause I hate paper work and prefer to pay taxes as I go and use an umbrella company.

Technically speaking I am a contractor - except I do 'digital art' and "fine art" The typical web interfaces are simple enough as I typically work for agency on site and its the usual times sheets and dispersements. But then there are assignments where I am paid to do an 'art installation' or piece of fine art. Now this is where things get very tricky because they can be exensive as hell to do and costs for things I need to buy aren't typical dispersements - anitque kimono silk imported from Japan! Plus I get paid a lump sum which time doesn't relate to. I need a way of invoicing for these and a way of offsetting the costs.

My tax return is the easy part. I just put in the 'other income' box the net income after my costs. If Hector shows up I can show him all the receipts and photos of the items sold.

Because the digital art and the fine art use the same equipment (computers, software), same clients, same stationary, same employee (me), same transportation, same pens, paint, photos etc. Separating them out and running as two different companies would be a logistical nightmare.

Typical umbrella companies don't work for me. I have one I can put timesheets through but I am trying to get info on how I can bill and offset the other stuff.

Doea anyone have the same problem or some ideas they can share?

I think this thread is more for people who use an umbrella or ltd and are thinking of using an IOM solution. Not sure your question fits into this?

Actually, I'm hilarious, and although you don't mean to be...you are too.

                  I hope this helps you.

Umbrella companies are typically designed to give bum on seat contractors who don't really want to run their own business, are in contracting to make a quick buck and can't be bothered to do the paperwork an easy way out.

What you describe sounds like a traditional contractor/freelancer where you go out and get your own business while filling in gaps with agency work. You are a real entrepreneur running a small business (which is a good thing) which means that you unfortunately don't fit into the umbrella company profile. An MSC may give you what you want but with the recent law changes in regards to MSC's not worth it IMHO.

My advice would be bite the bullet, get a good accountant and keep building the business. In a few years you may be bringing in enough to employ somebody to run the accounts side of the business for you. Good luck with it!!

The ideal solution might have been sole trader status, but that option isn't open to us. I thought that MSC's had all closed now?
