I'm new here, so go easy!
I've moved from a permie position to a contract and want to sign up for some Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI). However, the insurer says that if I want to make a claim in the future then I'll need to be claiming SSP from my employer (which is an Umbrella).
Now the umbrella say "we may be able to pay you SSP" - nice and vague eh? Surely as an employer they must pay SSP? I understand that they would be potentially losing money on me by paying out SSP, but if it's a legal requirement then they would have to.
Cheers,
AMOS.
