    Thanks Mal

Prozak, to use your analogy, I would rather advise people that they may get injured crossing the road than tell them that there is no risk whatsoever, they will enjoy it a lot more if they run across when there are loads of cars coming and for a real thrill they should play chicken which is what a lot of scheme providers do when they promise huge returns and no risk. Many companies still tell newbie contractors not to worry about the fact that they put through expenses that they haven't incurred because the umbrella company has a 'special' dispensation - all we have done over the years is try and balance these claims. The latest offering to have popped up quotes the following:

    £1,000 joining bonuses on offer
    HRMC investigation warranties
    100% compliant solutions
Retain upto 85% of your income

I would far rather be accused of FUD than peddle this kind of rubbish!

There's quite a few need things spelling out in some detail, and I'd rather rely on ContractorUmbrella than, say, Tarpon for telling the truth...
      Moan?
      Really?

Palease... I told her I was amused by her FUD. She appears to take exception to this regardless of any reassurances that FUD is a commonly used and fair sales technique.

If I really wanted to pick apart her website I could. But my purpose here isn't the assassination of a business that provides a service to people who want it... which is what I have also said all along.

ps. I am available for reviewing your website errors at a reasonable daily rate

Your FUD around EBT's is fair enough - albeit also not entirely accurate.

Its the FUD around LTD companies that amused me the most.

So, you think it is entirely the responsibility of people legally mitigating the amount of tax that they paid to "fully" fund the NHS (and every other public service)? Is it not in any way the responsibility of Government to ensure that they spend money wisely, tax as little as possible and ensure that there is no good reason for people to seek to avoid paying tax?

Let's just put the tax on divs up to 75% - that'll fund some more hospitals. Or let's make personal tax 70p in the pound. That'll definitely help with the deficit.

I assume that you are either incredibly happy because you are too stupid to realise that you should be something else or incredibly unhappy because nobody should be able to go through life being as mean spirited as you and be anything else.

Either way, let's hope reciprocally that you are stricken by some horrible illness. And let's hope that you have private medical insurance so that you can avoid clogging up an NHS hospital bed that could be taken by someone worth saving.

            Norla are in liquidation!

Don't bother with Norla they have seased trading and between them and Edge in the Isle of Man they still owe me £4k!!

Edge are denying Norla paid them and Norla aren't around to confirm or not.

I would avoid Edge like the plague they can not be trusted!!

How do you know they have gone into liquidation?

I know they have no website anymore, and there is only a message on their phonne number now saying they have ceasded trading. This dosen't mean they have gone into liquidation just they are not trading anymore.

I suspect Edge are playing the game of saying Norla didn't transfer funds to them to enable them to pay us.

Norla sent an email in January saying my contract had been assigned to Edge. Shouldn't I have some paperwork or something to show Edge now have a responsibility for providing my service, and wouldn't I have to agree to this contract assignment?

A quick search of Companies House should give you the information that you need

Have had a look at Companies house and it does not show that Norla Consulting Ltd is in liquidation.

Is that Norla Group or only Norla Consulting which have collapsed?

Have they called in the liquidators?
