Looking for Accountant to do Final Accounts

I'm emigrating in October and I need to cease trading with my company that's been active since April. Not long at all obviously.

I'm still new to Limited Co. operation and have been using Paystream to do my accounts and some admin work. The less said about that the better.

Basically what I need is an accountant to do my final accounts in October and advise what tax needs to be paid before I fly away never to return.

SJD have quoted me the quite staggering figure of £850+VAT and £125+VAT for closing the company. I find this absolutely unbelievable considering the small amount of work involved (or at least the 'perceived' small amount of work involved.) Leaving the company dormant is another possibility for me as I wouldnt incur the extra charges and could potentially use it again if/when I return.

I'm open to quotes or advice so if you would be so kind.

In the region of £1000 for annual accounts sounds about right.

just to update, I've had Paystream clarify that they can do the accounts but not until the end of the Financial year. The company will remain dormant for a small admin fee during that time.

SJD have been in contact to explain the fees they charge and I have to say have been extremely helpful. (Jaqui - Brum)

They also offered to do it for £250 + VAT considering the order the accounts are already in, it would only take a couple of hours.

Of course anyone else here wasn't privy to those records, but I appreciate the quotes and contact anyway.
