Annual Accountancy Fees for Ltd Co.

Mine was £2800 ex VAT this year (Company annual return and other standard stuff + my personal tax return)

Seems like a fortune to me.

What is any one else paying for comparables?

    You got screwed.

£60 ish a month is on the heavy side to me.

You dont say what your accountant does for you. Mine fdoes very little (other than end of year returns)

I use Nixon Williams (they do all the accounts work etc), they charge £60 per month (£720 pa) -so it does look like you've been had!

I use a small local family firm. Have been quoted £600 a year for VAT returns, Tax filling, and all the usual end of year stuff.

        Think they saw you coming.
Thats the way the cookie crumbles

You should be able to get year end only stuff done for under £1000 from any reputable contractor specialist accountancy.

              Heavy?

Why would any professional charge you any less than £60 a month purely for being available for you regardless of all the compliance work they are doing on your behalf?

I dont want to steal Mal's thunder, but an accountant shouldn't cost you anything. You should pay them out of the savings that they make for you. However if you want to compare then I pay about £900 per annum. They do not do that much work for that money, but for the peace of mind it is worth it. £2600 seems a little on the expensive side.

I use a local accountant for my year end and other tax/ni calculations. I can also phone anytime for advice - he charges a fixed fee of £450 per annum

He belongs to a group of accountants called certax - www.certax.co.uk

they have local accountant all over the place.
