Travel expenses - flight to China for Expo and factory visit

    Hello All,

I've been planning on my plan B...and need to go out to China. I was wondering if I could pass off the flight costs/hotel/expensiture as a business expense..??

I mean if I put down a booking for an IT expo there...and looking for business, etc.....

    Thanks.

If this is a genuine business expense then you can. If this is a "i'm on holiday to China but I'll try to write it up as Plan B and IT expo and hope thats ok then no."

If you are asking I assume its option 2.

Would this mean that Plan B must be in the legitimate interests of the Ltd that currently operates Plan A? This might mean that Plan A and Plan B are too close together thus meaning that Plan B is not really a Plan B?

        1. air conditiioning units...

        flog them back here.....

My company has just expanded into a different area???

It would be easier to get the units in the UK for a large wholesaler with a warehouse. You do know how much demurge and shipping costs on containers are don't you?

You using words like "and say" which to me still makes this up as a holiday you are trying to disguise. Ok, you may return with no product after a bad visit but I dont think HMRC will wash that one.

Depends how long it is. A 2 week factory visit would be a pish take, a 3 day one not.
