I read the HMRC will fine you in addition to getting the PAYE tax if they win an IR 35 case against you. I couldn't find on their site the size of these penalties.

Join the PCG, follow their advice, and HMRC have agreed not apply penalties if you have taken steps to ensure you are outside IR35, even if HMRC eventually pin it on you.
