I am now VAT registered and had the certificate a couple of weeks ago, my accountant says the FRS part is separate and will follow later, how long does this take? Is there a possibility that I will be refused the FRS? I’m getting a bit worried as I've heard nothing and I don't like the idea of being just a VAT collector with no benefit to myself.

VAT FRS how long does it take?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -
Vat Frs
It can take a couple of weeks for the FRS to be approved....the only realistic reason that it could be turned down is if there were outstanding returns, which clearly wouldn't be the case in your instance. -
I applied in February and it came through in March, turn round about 4 weeks.
Turn round time may depend on the VAT office which you send the application to.Comment

My FRS arrived three days after my vat registration cert.
I have no idea if that's typical thoughComment

i work with a couple of contractors here who tell me that you can just ring them up and register for the flat rate if you have your registration certificate.
