Calculating monthly salary

Can any body tell me is monthly salary calculated when invoice amount is recieved (banked) or when invoice is submitted.

For company accounts and corporation tax it is the timing of when the work is done that is important. For VAT (assuming you are on the cash accounting scheme) and IR35, it is the date of payment that matters.
