    Company Car Tax

... Yes before you say it, I know it's all been asked before, but......

How about the fact that you could be a 22% tax payer (NMW) which would dramatically reduce the tax burden; and you do not take the fuel benefit (therefore you can still claim business mileage, albeit at a lower rate).

    Thoughts?

As a rule of thumb, you are probably best off buying through the company if the car qualifies as a van (ie double cab pick up) or it is a newish small car (eg saxo, clio, ka, etc).

For midder range cars (eg mini, audi a3, golf, etc), you need to crunch the numbers.

For anything top end (volvo, merc, bmw, 4x4), it's a definite no-no.
