    Company Formation

Can anyone reccomend a company formation service?

I am currently using a brolly but want to go Ltd when this contract comes to an end in August. I have an idea of a company name I want to use and so want to register it now incase it gets taken.

Anyone reccomend an easy formation service? Also am I right in saying that I can register the company now, and keep it dormant until I decide to use it?

why wait till the end of your current contract? have the pimp raise a new contract in you new company name and switch on the tax year change over.

Contact one of the accounts that post here and switch straight away. (Nixon Williams SJD...)

They'll set up the Co. for free (or almost), plus deal with all the other stuff PAYE, VAT.....

          Hi,

I just used Nixon Williams to set up my Ltd (and be my accountant). Highly reccomend them. Good, fast service. £100 deposit to be offset against accountancy fees and Ltd set up for free. Good, helpful clear advice as well.

          Cheers,
          Alan

            Seconded for Nixon Williams.

Company setup and all paperwork received back two days after I had submitted my initial application.

For the accountants here - my contract period is up at the end of this month, and the client/eb want to extend until the autumn. I want to get newco set up and running with the new contract from apr to autumn.

I wouldn't mind ditching my current accountancy people.

1: do I have to give my existing accountants notice?
2: how long does it take to set up newco + accounts?
3: I may have been screwed by the old accountancy co - are there any payroll specialists that could take a look through my accounts for the past 2 years and tell me if everything's above board?
4: If it isn't, what action could I take?

Companies House are very good for this sort of thing, and you can do it on-line...

                    1. That depends on the accountants, we do not have a tie in, but some do.

                    2. We form a new company the same day we receive the instruction, a bank account should be opened with 10 days and VAT registration is taki ng 3 weeks. You can start trading as soon as the company has been formed though.

                    3. We could but it would cost to do a full review! As part of the takover we check the balance sheet on the last accounts to agree all the figures.

                    4. This depends what concerns you have, best speak to someone and discuss what worries you.
