    Re:Fees

take it up with the accountants professional body
assuming that you were wise enough to use a qualified accountant e.g. SJD

I'm sure that qualified accountants can't charge a fee unless it's based on work actually done - no loss leaders and that sort of thing - Simon, would you care to comment?

      Re: Fees

tulipe is really annoying me now. I am looking through my mates accounting records and letters they have sent him.

he pays for expenses personally and his ltd company reimburses him (like alot of contractors).

I was under the impression these go on your P11d return and you make a section 198 claim against this on your Tax Return.

guess what! no p11d was sent and no P11d entries are showing on his tax return??

i have told him to ask tulipe for a copy of his p11d return.

"tulipe is really annoying me now"

I was going to ask you who 'tulipe' was, but this would be very unfair on 'tulipe' as your mate went with their services knowing and willing to pay 5% of turnover in fees. Maybe it is your mate that is at fault, not reading letters of engagements or asking about the fees upfront is a big NO NO.

Why didn’t you recommend ‘you know who’ :lol to your mate?

          Re: Fees

he only became a mate recently....

he is from Australia and came over and therefore never knew much about the tax system etc...

'tulipe' specilises in catreing for Aus, NZ and South African contractors (specialises...shoul really read ..ripping off).

You probably guessed who they are now. Not really my mates fault, as he trusted this firm as they as mostly southern region staff themselves.
