Hi. My contract's up for renewal shortly, and the client has expressed an interest in retaining me for another 6 months. I'm working though an umbrella at the moment, who have a contract with an agency, who then supply me to the client. Problem is, my agent appears to be actively avoiding me. Phone calls and emails are never returned so I'm a bit stuck what to. I can't think of a reason as to why this would be...the agency has been getting a cut of my earnings for some time, and will continue to do so if my contract's extended. The client don't want anyone else to fill the role, only me, and they've said this to me. So....what gives?

Then sign directly with the client and cut the agent out completely.

I would expect your agents to take a sudden interest in you around signing time.
