contractormoney sorted mine out. They were great, would recommend. Also they claim to be able to get you a mortgage just with a copy of your contract (I think) - no accounts needed. They claim to have organised a mortgage for a client who had been contracting for 2 weeks...

hi,
i am new to contracting - i am in the 5th month of my first contract.
6 weeks in, i approached contractor financials and they have just arranged me a 145k mortgage, with no deposit, via northern rock. im on a weekly rate of around £1200, they were prepared to loan upwards of 200k.
all i needed to provide was:
6 months bank statements
pay slips from perm jobs for last 6 months
copy of current contract
anything else that may be useful (eg invoices etc)
no hassle, fantastic service. highly recommend it.

Wtf has that got to do with it?Originally posted by jim2406pay slips from perm jobs for last 6 months

My last perm job was so badly piad it hurt...whats that going to prove. Grrrr.
Also, anyone had any luck negotiating these "arrangement fees". I'm thinking of having a go.
At the moment my style is "Cancel those fees or I'll **** off elsewhere...you're not the only people who can lend me money". Seems to be working.Comment

Self cert is the way to go. Happy to pass on the name of my broker by IM! Try Birmingham Midshires for a start.

I went with Halifax agreed not many questions BUT rates are not great. Also at the end of the term of the morg if you dont move but just remorg you get a worse rate than if you moved house.Originally posted by monkeygeorgeHalifax were my saviours, hadly any questions asked, but then I did have an account with them nearly all my life, I think this helped.Comment
