Should I invoice clients myself ?

Should I invoice clients myself or should I ask the accountant to do it.

I wonder how much the accountant will charge for invoicing but I am afraid to ask.

Is this all I need for invoicing:

1. Receipt machine.
2. PC with a printer.

google the net for example ivoices, templates etc you can easily invoice the agency (NOT THE CLIENT) yourself.

Do it yourself. Find a template (SJD give you one if you use them), and change the company details to yours and fill in your hours/days each week/month. Then I always print a copy for my records and email a screengrab to the agent.

2uk, what normally happens (and I say "normally", because it can be different in every situation) is this (in very basic terms): -

- You find a gig/get tapped up for a gig
- Whichever agent has tapped you for that gig, then they are the agency you will work for for the duration of that gig.
- They will tell you everything you need to know about your timesheets and invoices (all agencies do it differently!). Normally you will fill in their timesheets every month, get them signed off your client, then either create your own invoice (PM me for an example if you like) or they might have electronic ones that you create online.
- You get paid.

Its really simple, but until you do your first one and get paid, you'll always be a bit nervy.

Just ask whichever agency you end up going through to explain it all to you properly.

You dont need any receipt machines or anything like that - you're not a shop

I don’t know for UK, but in some countries an invoice is 2 pieces - a receipt for the amount invoiced ( like a receipt for gas ) and invoice itself showing what the products/services are.

Basically you scribble a note out, put it under the glass and point the gun at the cashiers face. Never fails.

SJD do provide an invoice template, it's on the usb stick....
