Can I ask another question please, Would it be a problem if I take up a contract with my last client? My husband has a limited company and I am a shareholder there (not a director) . Can I work through my husband's company (as an employee/director) or is umbrella a better option?

This is hopefully just going to be 1-2 contracts until plan B properly picks up.

I can’t think of any reason why you couldn’t do the contract through the existing company, especially as you’re already a shareholder. Obviously you would have to distribute the profits from the contract according to your current shareholding, or the company could pay you a fee for the work. Talk to your accountant to find out the most tax efficient option.
