HMRC really are taking the piss alleging fraud.
When you met them did you point out their fraud (doctoring copies of letters previously sent to tax payers)?

I've had enough of dicking about.
That's what I wanted to hear. There is no way this is fraud. Total piss takers. Time for action.

absolutely agree, if HMRC don't want to negotiate then lets see what happens in a court.

Me too, the sooner the better.

But let's make sure that we are as prepared as we can be (i.e. all responses/opinions from all of our advisers have been received) as I sense building desperation from HMRC so we need to be ready.

            Grip.

Many moons ago when I got my first contract. I asked the agent "how do I get paid"
He said "set up a ltd company" so I did.
Then y2k and IR35 hmmm "now how do I get paid?"
MP said "join this scheme all legal and above board fully declared no IR35 to worry about" so I did
Now Anne is telling me something else. As with every step of the way I have as I am sure everyone else has only gone with what they have been professionally advised to do. How can it be fraud?????
There appears to be a slight problem with there time machine. It only has a reverse gear. If only they'd had a fast forward look at 2015.
They are the ones that have constantly changed the rules. How the **** can it be fraud!!!

                  Quote from Anne Redston

For obvious reasons I can't reveal everything she said about the fraud issue.

But let me just share one her conclusions. Remember, she is an FTT Judge.

"It is extremely unlikely that HMRC would succeed in demonstrating fraud on the part of Mr A or Mr B."

Who do you trust? Her, or a couple of bullies from HMRC?

"... QC would produce a compelling counter-argument many years later." Jeziz, sounds like retrospection to me. But we know that's kosher these days. 20yr stretch vs. back to the financial ice-age - worth the risk.
