    Annual Event Reimbursment

Hi guys - just a quick question. I understand I can claim up to £150 per year for an annual event. I recently took out some colleagues and clients of mine for a meal to which the bill came to over the £150. I also paid the full amount cash, withdrawn from my personal account.

Am I able to claim any of this back through my co?

I obviously have receipt and bank statement etc.

No. It's an annual event for employees/office holders, including a guest each, if applicable. It must be open to all staff, cannot exceed £150 per person (otherwise it's taxable), and the clue is in the "annual event" part. Taking your mates/clients/neighbours to dinner doesn't qualify.

Client entertainment: Legitimate company expense but not deductible for CT. Only worth considering if already paying dividends up to/over the high rate tax threshold.

Annual event: Allowance for employee and family members only. Must be less than £150 per head. Plenty of threads on this if you care to do a search.
