Without wishing to sound rude, given the lack of understanding you've shown in this thread around how things work, could I suggest starting with a PAYE compliant umbrella until you find your feet? Yes, you'll take home less than operating outside IR35 through a Ltd company but it will give you time to do a little research before you take the jump.

Thanks for the info, what are th benefits of paye umbrella as apposed to just paye, I am interested in going limited company, how would insert this up, my g/f is self employed, all she does is file a tax return once a year, is it as simple as getting paid you lot all year then, filing a return writing as much off as possible?

Given your situation, I'd be going as clean as possible. Hiring your girlfriend? I'd be very careful about that tbh, and would almost suggest not doing that. Filing tax returns? Mate, you need to get a pro to do that for you. If you go Ltd Co you need to use an accountant. And not the cheapest one either.

But really, I'd recommend you go with a proper umbrella company for now. Get out of your current scheme ASAP.

It sounds as though your girlfriend is operating as a sole trader and not running a Ltd Co. If you are going to run a business then you need to realise what your responsibilities are - check out IR35, read the guides to running a Ltd on here, look for a decent specialist accountant, understand that 'writing off as much as possible' is the sort of phrase that upsets HMRC and look into opening a business bank accountant. Whilst you are doing all of this register with a proper PAYE umbrella company for a few months to give yourself a chance to properly understand all your obligations
