Excel 2007 (under XP) refuses to read .xlsx files?

Error message is
"Excel cannot open the file 'aaa.xlsx' because the file format or file exntension is not valid. verify that file has not been corrupted and that the file format matches the extension of the file".

Don't you need to download the xls patch for 2007 to work with that file type?

Its "VBA for Modelers" by Albright. But it needs a code.
I could send that to you but that may be a breach of contract blah blah. and as its company property I can't risk it.

Eh? No xlsx is the standard 2007 type.

OK fixed. I had unzipped them on one machine and copied to the Excel machine.
When I unzipped directly on the Excel machine it worked.
Don't know why
