We don't see it as mutilation.. And the reason is purely hygienic (the reason my parents did it)..

Pointless arguing about it (and I have had this discussion with friends too) as nobody's argument is going to change anyone's opinion about it..

Having seen how it was done the chances are very small (a small plastic ring is placed over the head and under the loose skin and then tied on, cutting off the blood supply and the excess skin falls off after a week or so)..

how come no women have replied? they can be 'trimmed' too... happens in places in Africa i believe (happy to be corrected!)

Apparently they use a an old tin can lid to perform the surgery...

It does happen a lot in Africa.. Normally it is a rusty old knife and a lot of women die from the procedure due to infection..

Teach him to wash properly then you dont need to do this.
Cutting pieces off people isn't mutilation? New concept to me.
I am not arguing, nor am I trying to change your mind. It is your choice.
I amstating my opinion. I think this practice is barbaric. It is mutilation. You do not deserve to have children. You do not even have a deep seated religious belief to fall back on.
