        Started last night:

        - was meant to go to Baden Baden where an old friend (now lives in the Pfalz and is the ex-bassist from Manfred Mann) was doing a gig for radio but:
        - after a 300km drive home and then another couple of hundred to see him I think I might have been a bit knackered to enjoy it fully
        - Seasick Steve (with support from Gemma Ray) was in town and with it being his first time in Germany and only doing 5 dates and me rather liking him a lot, that was on the agenda. It was absolutely ******* brilliant. The man is the bollocks

Tonight is off to a local food place, Welcome to the Bavarian court | Schmackes Catering Darmstadt , for some damn good German specialities. Used to be a regular but it got taken over a couple of years ago and the reviews weren't too good but recently have heard that it has improved, so we'll see...

Tomorrow will be football and a couple of friends have invited me to the Queer Film Festival so I'll be popping along to watch a couple of films and have some drinkies with them

        Sunday, chilling...

        In pictures:

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

So have booked a 10k run in 2 weeks time and on NYDay to keep me away from evil up to NYEve.

Start running tomorrow - hate running.
I chatted with a triathlete after spinning yesterday; he said he hated the running too, so I asked why he didn't just do bike racing and swimming, seeing as many amateurs can do two sports resonably well. He said 'dunno, hadn't thought of it that way; might give it a try'.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

            Passed without issues.

Garage round the corner of clientco mainly does trucks. MOTs are a sideline so they don't look for problems....

The recovery time and injury potential for running is far greater than cycling, swimming and rowing. I can cheerfully do a row/swim/stretch and bike in 1 day - throw running into the mix and you can lose other sessions due to recovery.

I have been injury free so far (until i fell over drunk the other day - it was fun though, for me anyway) but i know runners with constant kniggles, I can say I have done 11 marathons of which 7IMs and a number of halves and 10ks with no injuries to-date. Chappy at work did IM #1 and can no longer run due to his knees and he is only in his mid 30's.

Back to your question though - I do sportives and distance swim and rowing racing too, just have to force the runs.

i'm gonna be finishing my year-end accounts, raising an invoice, watching vettel win again, taking the dogs out for a wet walk, drinking some beer and not watching the x factor. and cuddling my war chest before it's spent on reducing a freaking gigantic new mortgage into a bloody huge one.
