    1 British pound = 1.13129039 Euros

according to google, which on average for the last few months that's been about the norm
£1 = 1.14003 Euro according to Bloomberg and rising...

Ooooo, loads of people buying Euro - more importantly, loads of people are selling... Exciting, init?

depends how you look at it, with the Euro against the Pound

1 day - virtually no change

5 days - yup starting to fall quite steeply

1 month - has been worse but it picking up

3 months - on the upwards slope

1 year - has been a lot worse and seems not far under average and gaining IMO

5 years - a lot stronger than it was in 2007

hmm what happened in September 2007 to make the Euro more favourable than the pound??? Ahh yes September 19th 2007, Gordon began saving the world

I'll take a 50EUR bet that by this time next year 1GBP < 1.5EUR, it's taken 2 years for the Euro to gradually rise to what it is now and I'd be willing to take the above bet by thinking that the eurozone has far more good than bad in it than the Uk in order to balance each other out. I believe the Uk has a lot of pain coming when Brown finally stops meddling with the finances and the clean up can begin.

So you are making bet in EUR, and if GBP is too strong then you will in effect give away less GBPs (thus not losing as much as you should), and if GBP falls you'll gain more since you made bet in EUR?
