A couple of questions for you chaps :

How did you recognise each other?

When chatting and stuff, did you refer to each other by your real names, or by those fictional Christian names?

"Would you care for another half of 'Babysham and mild' Tarquin?"

      or

"Would you care for another half of 'Babysham and mild' Pogle?"

As I intend to make one of these do's soon I need to know.

Handbags (no - really) and a basic description. I stick out like a sore thumb anyway and if you can't see me you can hear me . When we got to the pub I texted OwlHoot and told him where we were - two females in that pub was an easy spot.

Oh yeah - we have each others mobile numbers. Probably quite important that one

Oh no SY01, please don't let me stop you. Keep your mobile number and description to yourself and we can just trawl central London for a bloke in a fez. Sounds like loads of fun.

I have a rather nice Orla Kiely one - very distinctive, also being a northerner and quite friendly, I have no qualms about walking up to perfect strangers and asking them if they are Zippy
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Nah, the looniest poster on CUK must without a doubt, be that chasingtheaurora bloke who was doing the charity trek to the North Pole, but only in his mind.

or possibly the guy who was in the papers a few years ago for impersonating someone else and the police said they believed he was hiding some secret. I gather he had been in a serious car crash, which shook him up badly, and maybe that was the start of his problems.

He freaked us out one day by bungey posting in the middle of a discussion about him. A pretty reasonable post as I recall, and he seemed genuine enough (and sane).

But AFAIK he hasn't been back since, although apparently he's now in IT and maybe looks in here now and then.

Did the get-together happen in the end?
