Default confused by spam

Got this commerical email:

Good.

But if my name was removed, how did they send this mail? And if it wasn't removed, why did they send this mail?

This smacks of a management decision, methinks the company has a 'management consultant' performing a 'management' function, probably from one of the TLA consultancies. Poor sods. Almost certainly why they had the initiating database problem.

Spam is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. The labeled ingredients in the Classic variety of Spam are: chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, salt, water, sugar, and sodium nitrite to help keep its color.

It's potassium nitrate in gunpowder...
